Your 20s were a whirlwind.
You went to an intense graduate school program or you worked your ass off trying to move up in your field. Early mornings. Late evenings. Weekends. You were there, putting in the time. You pushed through the crazy supervisors, the extreme deadlines, the awful, awful workload. You worked for SO MANY horrible bosses and dysfunctional teams. Yet you always put in the extra time, pitched in where it was needed, and went the extra mile. You were relentless.
And, guess what, you made it! You’re here.
You have the degree. You’re working in the role you’ve always wanted. Maybe your salary is more than you EVER dreamed you’d earn.
You’re not happy. You don’t like it. You’re stressed. Burned out. Tired. So, so tired.
Work drains you, before you even walk into your office. Sometimes, just the thought of work makes you jittery. It sucks you dry. This is not what you expected. If you’re being completely honest with yourself, you’re painfully disappointed. But, you put in so much time to get here. If not this, then what?
You think you’re coping JUST FINE. You’re handling it - not letting many people know. Struggling through the day to day, but putting on a good show. You THINK you’re keeping your stress at work. Leaving it at the office when it’s finally time to go home.
But, wait. Not so fast…
You come home from another soul-sucking, shitty day at work, and you’re….
….yelling at your kids
….short with your spouse
….beyond drained - remember when you used to go running outside?!
….feeling resentful - you took the heat all day and now have to go home and cook?
….barely holding it together
….not talking with your friends or family because you just don’t have the energy
….feeling like you’re ready to explode if ONE LITTLE THING falls off schedule
….dragging yourself from one task to another
….irritable, frustrated, easily pissed, scattered, and distracted
….full of reasons why everything is just FINE. “Everyone hates their job.” “Only 20 years until retirement.” “I can make it work.”
….telling yourself that you’re leaving your stress at work. That, you’re compartmentalizing. Work is stressful, but everything else is fine
You ARE affecting the ones you love. The stress of work IS impacting all aspects of your life — especially the people you love. And, it’s been this way for FAR too long.
And you never thought it would be like this.
You have a couple options.
1.) Double down on “dealing with it,” which leads to more of the same. Same stress. Same negative impact on the ones you love. Same disappointment and exhaustion. Same stuck feeling.
2.) You could make a change. You could find a way to create resilience in your work life. You could learn simple changes to leave stress at work, create more happiness in your life, and improve your relationships.

Meet Your Coaches
Hi, I'm Chrissy. I am a career coach who has been there when it comes to career disappointment. I landed my dream job after graduate school, which was unfortunately also my first toxic work environment. I was overworked, underpaid, yelled at constantly. It was all so confusing - I loved the work I was doing…why couldn’t I just be a team player and get past everything else? As problems advanced, the rest of my life fell away. I never worked out. I gained weight. Simple things like reading a magazine became a luxury. I had no time for my husband. Date night? Hah! Who has time? Yet, I could not look away from my work email for fear of missing an assignment. I lost all confidence in my ability to do my job well, despite being a highly competent, effective, and influential professional. Once I finally prioritized myself, I was able to begin setting healthy professional boundaries, and be my authentic self at both work and home. I want this group to help you do the same.
Hi, I’m Alyssa. I’m a personal and executive coach and a clinical psychologist. In my personal coaching practice, I specialize in helping high achieving women with big emotions create relationships of joy, ease, and purpose. Big feelings = experiencing emotions deeply and intensely! I help successful women create the relationships and lives they want with the same passion, diligence, and no-bullshit attitude they use in their professional world. In my executive coaching practice, I support leaders in improving their interpersonal relationships in the workplace and at home, increasing their emotional intelligence, and managing their inner critic. In a nutshell, there’s something you want - you don’t have it yet — and we create the roadmap to get there and address any bumps along the way. I help organizations improve teamwork by promoting positive interpersonal relationships. I’ve worked in intensely stressful job situations, and I needed a wake-up call to realize how much it was affecting me!
We'll work together to change your patterns of thinking -- because a stressful work environment can really mess with them --
to get you feeling empowered, resilient, and ready to take on the next step in your awesome career!
